This chart was inspired by me coming across 'The Best Scottish Album in the World...Ever' on itunes and seeing all the crap that was on there. Bay City Rollers, Rod Stewart, Lulu, Andy Stewart,etc. Wow, I thought, is that the best music good old Scotland has produced over the years? Thankfully it's not. So I made this best ever Scottish albums chart to hopefully highlight all that's great about this wee country. Top of the pile for me has to be the fantastic Psychocandy, a landmark album that influenced so many of the bands I love and indeed the whole shoegazing genre. New Gold Dream and Screamadelica have also been described as masterpieces and are worthy of their place in the top 3. I have limited this chart to a maximum of three albums per artist and as with all my charts I have excluded compilations,live albums and EP's. I have also not included bands such as Eurythmics, Garbage, Marillion,etc. as these acts have Scottish singers but the rest of the band are not Scottish.

So mine is 1 album per artist more as a best bands, this is an awesome resource though. I'll try and get through all the groups I don't know by the end of the month.
