Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. Incredibly interesting list. There are a bunch I've been unaware of.
Really impressive chart on many ways, pleased at seeing ‘The Milk-Eyed Mender’ and ‘New York Tendaberry’, also a number of other very good artists.
There is a lot of variety in this chart, and a number of artists I never knew of before, notably Wendy Rene.

If I see a chart with an album unknown to me as No. 1, I'm inclined to get a bit excited. Aaah, here's a chance to listen to some new music that someone else truly loves. (EMA)
And I like it .. a lot.
There are a massive 81 albums in this chart that I've not listened to yet. ... so this chart has given me some catching up to do.
