Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 7% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 88.3/100, a mean average of 89.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 9.2.

Nice chart
Sweet chart, lots of good old-fashioned rock, jazz, and blues. I like the eponymous UK album, and always forget about it.
Sorry I'm a few days late on CotD, just getting to yours now.
I've seen you all over this site and your reputation as a jazz and prog head is clearly justified here. Great mix of the familiar and unfamiliar - however, seeing your presence in forums means I know you CAN write, so I'd leave to see some of that energy put into this chart!
Some good albums, some great albums. Moving Pictures is a good number one. I really like Operation Mindcryme too. I discovered that recently on here. I am still to get more into jazz. I've heard a good few of the more popular albums. But I will persevere in listening to it.
Good chart.
Nice to see someone who also has a healthy mix of Prog rock and jazz!
Will definitely be listening to stuff from this chart. Seems well thought out.
Wow! Moving pictures rocks! Finally someone who understands music!
Nice chart! Like to see Sticky Fingers and Village Green in Top 10
I want to rate this, but there is so much on here I have not listened to I will have to refrain!
Great chart!
