Top 100 Music Albums of the 1990s by CharlieBarley
Here is my chart of my fave albums of the 1990s, the years where I went from being a teenager to a young man in my 20s. These years were highly influential and were to shape my musical tastes for years to come. There were many different musical movements of the 90s, such as Madchester, shoegazing, grunge, Britpop, Radiohead (they deserve their own category)and the development of dance music, sorry I never really got into nu-metal. But I also at this time got into many older artists from the 60s, 70s and 80s, many classic albums. It was a good musical education and I'm still discovering music from the past which is new to me today. Anyway hope you enjoy this chart.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 4% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 89.0/100, a mean average of 90.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.9/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 5.7.

Thanks for the ratings Guys!
Thanks!
Interesting list. I was even reminded of a few for my own.
thanks man
44 in common, great list.
32 albums in common! Fantastic selections overall too!
I always appreciate charts that offer some crossover with my own charts (we have 11 albums in common) but also strike off in their own direction. Your chart does that. There are classics such as OK Computer (I know everyone loves that album, but it's for good reason--as you say, Radiohead are sort of their own genre), Grace, Nevermind, and In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, but also some stuff that's a little off my radar (The Man Who comes to mind). Lots here to explore--thanks for sharing it!
