Top 100 Music Albums of the 1960s by Hayden (2013)
The 60's. Ah. The 60's.
The Beatles, The Velvet Underground, The Beach Boys, Frank Zappa...The 60's had all the fun stuff. It was a time in music where originality was at its peak. Everyone was trying different stuff (...insert illegal drug pun...). The Velvet Underground topped the decade for me. Fantastic start to the history of modern music. Pink Floyd, The Who, and many other great bands released their firsts albums in this decade, only to get better.
I don't think I consider the 60's as big of a decade as a lot of other people do. I do have to note that the recording technology was fairly poor, and many albums that may have sounded pretty good, came across very poorly. I also don't think that the 60's had a largest variety of music. But, what was good, was great.

16 Albums in common ain't too bad.
Almost perfect chart! 60's are pure magic...
Nice to see Bobby "Blue" Bland and Albert King get a mention. Unfortunately, there's also a lot of stuff I find somewhat mediocre. Also, Forever Changes at #90 is bizarre; I just assumed everyone loved it.
Great 1960s chart
Solid chart reminded me of a few I've missed.
I've listened to a majority of entries here but I just can't find 60s music I really enjoy. Stuck in the mindset of 80s and 2000s. Might look at some of these on here I don't know.
great list... though there is a lot i do not know yet.
