Top 100 Music Albums of the 1960s by hairymarx1
For me, rock music began in 1966 and this is reflected in the chart. As well as the obvious, I've included some of the more obscure psychedelic gems from the era. Far better than anything off 'Nuggets' or 'Pebbles volume 3', many of these artists truelly deserve a wide audience. Albums by Godz, Insect Trust, Chicago Transit Authority, Peter Ivers, Devils Anvil, Fifty Foot Hose, Ken Nordine, Mort Garson, West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band and Limbus 3 are particularly good.

good chart
You seem to know much more of 60`s music than I do.
I thought I´m one of the grandfathers on BEA...
But maybe I´m just the father und the grandfather it`s you...
I feel it´s again a brilliant chart, but I cannot rate yet, there`s too much I don`t know!
Very nice list of some less known 60's gems. Thank you for sharing it.
congratulations! (this is perhaps the most interesting chart I've seen on this site...)
Whoa! I LIVE to dig up obscurities. Is it within budget? The reason I have a huge collection of record guides (and now BAE) is to help me manage that budget. Now, if certain people were willing to oblige my willingness to hear the obscure...
Rubbish? Tough call on that one. Obscurities are where you find the true gems. For instance, Have Moicy! others? I've been listening to Pere Ubu for 35 years, talk about an unpopular choice at parties. And I just saw that damn Townes Van Zandt in the record store yesterday for three bucks and I didn't pick it up. Damn! Don't think I'm not paying attention.
Daftpunter
I understand your reluctance to want to dig out what you might consider rubbish, but obscurities by the Insect Trust and Godz, for example, are gems that really deserve a wide audience.
Dude, I understand your obvious desire to educate the planet and name drop at the same time. There's a lot of interesting album names and I'm sure there are many great minutes per underrated album BUT, and this is a big BUTT, there's usually a reason many bands and albums are left to the cut-out bins and singles left to K-Tel compilations of time (ok, maybe Nuggets for The Sonics and Blues Magoos). I'd love to hear each and every one of these albums...but much like I Feel Like I'm Fixin' To Die and The Morey Eels Eat the Holy Model Rounders one listen is usually enough. Great list though. And remember, name dropping aside, great is still great.
"There are 76 albums you've not listened"
Oh dear, I have a lot of catching up to do. But a very exciting chart indeed :)
I wanted to include the underrated band 'The Misunderstood' but the system denied me.
Can't wait to see more of the psychedelic 60s :)
