Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 86.3/100, a mean average of 84.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 13.8.

good chart
Outstanding chart! We have many albums in common, and for sure I will most definitely have to check out the others. Thank you for the research list =)
If I had to sort these 100 albums into order (1 - 100) I might not do it quite as you have but you can't argue with the quality of the albums in this chart. Great choices.
42 albums in common but 2 Simon & Garfunkel + 6 Beatles in your top 10, that seems to me extreme.
Nice, but I do not believe in arithmetics when it comes to rating. First, there is the cover art. Sometimes a bad track does not matter, sometimes it spoils the whole album. Even an exceptionally great track can spoil an album if it does not fit in. Also, there is sometimes a sentimental value attached. A gift by a friend? A live performance you have once seen? And the reverse is true. Sometimes you just love to have an album even if you have to admit that the tracks are just fine.
47 in common... uh... I think that's the highest I've ever seen. Also love to see PSRT in first place.
33 Albums and 14 artists in common...nice!
Maybe too much obvious choices, but still great! If someone forces me to listen to all the albums in this chart I would be a lucky man!
deep and fundamental!
Good Stuff!
