1985-1987. The first LP I purchased with my own money, and the first record I truly adored. It all started thanks to the video to We Close Our Eyes, the one with the blue background and the artist's dolls doing a little dance. Who could have ever foretold that it was being plonked in front of the TV to watch this drivel would have been such a life-changing moment?? [First added to this chart: 12/23/2013]

1988-1991. Found in my Xmas stocking, 1987, and the second homo-erotic pop duo I ended up (what I believe the youngsters now call) 'fan-boying'. I snapped up everything they produced until Behaviour, which was shite. [First added to this chart: 12/23/2013]

1991-1992. One of the triumverate of CDs that my parents bought me with my first CD player, the others being The White Room by The KLF and Hardcore Ecstasy. For this reason alone, was my favourite LP purely based on the fact that it was shiny and fitted nicely on the shelf next to my Spectrum computer games. [First added to this chart: 12/23/2013]

1992-1994 (alternating with The Stone Roses). It was the re-release of This Charming Man that first awakened me to The Smiths. All of a sudden I was immersing myself with all things Morrissey. Vividly remember listening to them incessently during GCSE revision. [First added to this chart: 12/23/2013]

1992-1994 (alternating with The Smiths). Asked and received CD for Xmas in 1992 (around time I started reading Melody Maker). I felt so much cooler than the other lads in 6th form, who had all fallen in love with Metallica. [First added to this chart: 12/23/2013]

1995. Flipped out the minute I heard it, became obsessive, even to such a point I joined their fanclub for a while. Saw them in Brighton, then again in Bournemouth (what is it with the teenage me going to the seaside so often). The romance wilted after every sod and his mother bought ...Morning Glory, and by the time I reached university (where my good friend Andy even cut his hair like Liam's) I'd moved on somewhat. 1995-1996. Ahhh Britpop. Saw Oasis twice in quick succession (one with the only girl who broke my heart, only 'cos she snogged my work colleague on my birthday), went backwards during Debenhams CD buying streak, got to Revolver and couldn't get enough of it. [First added to this chart: 12/23/2013]

1996-1998; 2013-2014. Got bored of Beatles, ended up working with a guy from Debenhams who used to be in a band with Chris White from the Zombies. By the time I went to University, I was totally enamoured with Brian Wilson's finest hour. And in fact still am - when life throws you so many things to deal with all at once (happy and sad) you find yourself turning to the comfort and safety of those things that are guaranteed to make you feel all warm and fuzzy, especially when it's blowing a gale outside and the shed you built seems to be permanently on the verge of blowing over. 1999. Spent most of my time at University trying to convert others to Nick Drake. Always swore to marry any female fan on the spot, and tried to convert girls I fancied to listen to him in an attempt to overcome this schism. [First added to this chart: 12/23/2013]

2000-2002. Came out of Uni feeling cocky and full of bravado. Had a Brummie girlfriend. Still keen to convert the world to my way of musical thinking at this point. Never did like bananas. [First added to this chart: 12/23/2013]

This is an awesome idea for a chart, and great commentary too. It makes me think about what my chart would look like if I made something like this. Granted I think I've shuffled between the same 3 albums for about 15 years, so maybe mine wouldn't be as interesting. I'll have to think about it some more!

Considering that you can even remember all the albums you've ever purchased in CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER, I'm going to give you a 100 rating. A great chart, and an impressive way to list it!
