This chart is by no means what I think the best albums of all time should be. They are my personal favourites as a 32 year old, being more influenced by post 00's music, & just trying to take in as much good music as I can!
Some of my favorite tracks are classics, but as for albums, I'm glad to be in my generation. I'm not particularly eloquent - but I've attempted to explain a few of my choices here.

I loved Nostalgia Ultra, but was never expecting the debut album would be anywhere near this polished & beautiful! Frank Ocean has created his own style/genre that's unrivaled. Gave me some great summers & helped me on the path to coming out.

I had a long car journey in a tough part of my life, where I listened to If You're Feeling Sinister; the first Belle & Sebastian album I had heard. I was completely enveloped with the band & have loved this album the most, for a long time now.

I have never waited for something so long & been so happy! Seigfried & Godspeed are both beautifully emotional: giving an amazing end to the album. Without the filler tracks I've grown sick of, this might be higher.

Neon Bible is masterpiece! All the drama from Funeral harnessed into this polished spectacle of an album. The first five tracks are great, the last 6 are wondrous!

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

You know, it's stuff like your comment on Bloc Party that I love. I can't say I like the album, in fact I really don't, but you love it and can say why in a way that makes me want to reconsider my own opinion. Nice personal choices overall.

Greetings from across the ditch. I love it that we only have 4 albums in common (& that might go down to 2 when I review my chart in the next week or so). We have 40 years age difference and I would be most disappointed if your fav's weren't what you were getting into in your mid teens to now (ie 2000's & beyond). Being honest with yourself about what you love (which sometimes cannot be explained in words) and not feeling pressured by the majority view is a good recipe for making a chart that you need make no apologies about. My only criticism is that being a Kiwi, I was hoping to see a few more NZ or Aussie albums in your chart. If you like you can check out my top 100 NZ & Australian artists chart on this site to give you a few ideas. Keep on enjoying your journey through life & music. BTW ~ Nice work discovering Neil Young's 'After the Goldrush'.

You know it's a good chart but it doesn't add anything new, every one of these albums is well known and represented on BEA. Have to agree with Neon Bible though, seen Arcade Fire live yesterday, Windowsill and the title track were great. Keep listening and loving music (y)

Good chart. 17 in common. Good to see a younger perspective. I have only a few 00's and 10's albums on my top 100 but I like a lot of modern music. My chart has a lot of albums from the 60s through 90s. I was a youth in the 90s. But I do try and listen to music from the last 20 years. I'm not a dinosaur!! Anyway good chart man.
