Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 91.1/100, a mean average of 90.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.8/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.2.

wonderful song, close to perfection
The beautiful harmonies beginning during the bridge midway and running throughout the second half of the piece are astonishingly immaculate. The perfect execution and editing/mastering process involved in capturing these moments makes the piece so soothing and skin-tingling; it's hard for "Mykonos" to be disagreeable.
"Mykonos" - and the entire EP at large, moreover - suggests and anticipates Fleet Foxes' successful and critically-acclaimed full-length releases FLEET FOXES and HELPLESSNESS BLUES. While quite possibly providing us with their most tantalizing listening experience of simple but effective folk melody, silky vocals, and gentle acoustic approach. It swells to a climax of a capella sections and satisfying instrumental levels, for a well-rounded phonic affair.
And while the composition is very pleasant, it's hard to ignore the darkness surrounding the meaning of "Mykonos". Riddled with brilliant nature-related metaphor-like representations and ancient myth-related allusions, we see an argument between two friends - the narrator, and his audience (his "brother") - unfolding into a story of acceptance, redemption, and forgiveness. The audience's acceptance that he is an addict and must seek rehabilitation. Redemption in the form of the audience's recovery in a welcoming place of revitalizing sunlight and soft shores (Mykonos). And the narrator's forgiveness (an ancient gate) of the "mess [the audience] made".
Come to think of it, the song is really heavy in content yet so pacifying on the surface. The listener has to dig deeper to get the full value of the song. Fleet Foxes probably wanted to pass across to the listener a calm and controlled method of dealing with strained friendships, especially those resulting in something as harmful (both psycho-socially and physically) as drug dependencies. It's this contrasting element of pretty musicality and darker themes that sets "Mykonos" apart as one of the most unique of its kind since 2008.
My favourite Fleet Foxes song.
One of the best Fleet Foxes tracks
Best Fleet Foxes track, and one of my overall personal favorites. The "Brother you don't need to turn me away" line gives me goosebumps every time.
This is one of my favourite tracks of all time
