Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. It just dawned on me how good a song this is. The opening lyrics are genius.
"I etched the face of a stop watch on the back of a raindrop/And did a swap for the sand in an hour glass"
This is a brilliant way of describing a cherished moment which is inevitably going to end. Another example of Turner's incredible songwriting.
