Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 87.5/100, a mean average of 87.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.2/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.7.

Musical brilliance, it never tires. Seeing this live in Rome in 2007 there were many in the audience with moist eyes.

A Trick of the Tail has some absolutely beautiful tunes, and Ripples is no exception. Perhaps the most poetic song about how beauty is impermanent, and how you should both cherish it while you have it in your youth and make sure that it's not the only thing you have, or you'll live a sad and lonely life once it's gone. This is all told through a delightful Collins vocal, soft in the verses and loud in the choruses. The transition from soft to loud is so cathartic to hear every time it happens. The jam-like keyboard/guitar feature in the middle seems a little bit out of place, but it's really well done, and it transitions back into the main theme in excellent fashion. I can't help but feel something inside every time I hear it, so I'm willing to overlook the slightly out-of-place middle section and hand this one a 100. I think it deserves it.
