Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 4% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 81.3/100, a mean average of 80.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.4/100. The standard deviation for this track is 14.2.

It's not a great closer to what has gone before and the lyrics leave a lot to be desired but the guitar is excellent here.
One of the best tracks on the record alongside In My Life, Nowhere Man and Think for Yourself, even if the lyrics are problematic.
A very catchy song with very very problematic lyrics. I choose to see them as being ironic but knowing John's relationship with his wife at the time... yeah they probably aren't ironic at all...
I always thought this was supposed to be some kind of funny bonus track. I like it, but the lyrics oviously do not fit into such a well thought album.
An OK ending to a great album!
Along with, what goes on, run for your life, is the song that stops, rubber soul, from being a perfect album(alright, wait, isn't the greatest Beatle song either, but you know what I mean). It's not so much musically, although admittedly it's not great, it's the lyrics. They are completely at odds with the rest of the album. Okay, rubber soul, isn't quite peace and love, regardless of what the overall tone of the music suggests, although, the word, is obviously a precursor to, all you need is love. No, there is a fair dose of bewilderment, frustration and anger, especially on Paul McCartney's Jane Asher inspired duo, you won't see me, and, I'm looking through you. Other songs like, girl, and the silly, what goes on, also tap into the negative aspects of love, but none of them have the disgusting violent imagery that, run for your life, evokes. A nasty song, sung by a nasty man(at least the narrator of the song) who, the song must suggest, is obviously quite happy to beat his girlfriend/wife, and even worse has threatened to kill her if their romance was to come to an end. It really is a horrible song. A twelve track Rubber soul, without this song and, what goes on(or maybe adding, day tripper, and, we can work it out, to bring it back up to fourteen), would have been preferable.
not my favourite
That's a violent track about woman-beating, but somehow I still like it.
Hey oh!! Some guitar music!
