Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 88.1/100, a mean average of 87.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.9/100. The standard deviation for this track is 16.6.

This has become my favorite track of all time over the years. From the noisy zither section to the post-rock jam session to the lullaby ending, this is one of Swan's greatest songs. Also the lyrics are S tier.

The final 5 minutes are the climax of all 30 years of Swans' discography.

Starts with the sound of either rain or fire, both of which fit the album so I'm not sure. 'Ahhhhhh's come into the song, but not Gira's 'aaaaaah's, more choir-like. Slow violins replace them, and the song is quite drone-y for a bit, before chimes come in. And then, about ten minutes into the song, it completely changes. Not by slowly changing as Swans songs usually do, becoming entirely different before you've realised they have, rather everything just instantly changes to guitars, drums, bass and a different type of bell, more Jingle Bells-type of thing. A piano plays a very improvised-sounding melody, and around 15 minutes into the track, we finally get some vocals. Here we get one of the most memorable lines on the album along with 'LUNACY, LUNACY, LUNACY, LUNACY' and 'I see it all, I see it all': 'In the blood of the swans, as the sun fucks the dawn.' Gira sings an outro, and the song ends.

One of the best tracks on the album.

Very pretty! The first 15 minutes are great! The ending is very nice too, adds a lot to the prettiness. I don't see how only 4 out of 19 minutes of enjoyment makes a song 85/100 for you, but okay.

Not sure the first 15 minutes were necessary, but the actual song is great!
