Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 88.4/100, a mean average of 88.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.7/100. The standard deviation for this track is 10.8.

A brilliant pop song. I wonder how much Ryder got paid for literally just saying "It's coming up" and "It's dare"?
Gorillaz dared to do dance music, and by god they did it well.
The first Gorillaz song I ever heard and I still love it to this day. Aslo what he guy below me said.
More and more perfect production for a pointless, catchy dance song.
Pretty good
It's supremely amusing that the title, and lyrics, of "DARE" have been influenced by Shaun Ryder's thick Mancunian accent. It results in a "daring" phonetic theme opposed to "it's there, it's coming up". This possibly unintentional word play encourages the intended audience (possibly the narrator speaking to himself) to dare to engage in everything that he or she is missing out on accomplishing or is afraid to do.
There, it elucidates on an internal struggle to live in the moment and enjoy life, or force one's self to commit to things one does not wish to have to face. The narrator encourages himself "you've got to press it on you", or otherwise it in question will never come to fruition. There's an obvious standstill, that he's "just been thinking it" and never actually making an active concerted effort. Therein lies a topic of human responsibility, or outgoing flexibility.
That this could possibly involve the premise of fellatio or substance abuse sounds absurd to me. Listeners should get their heads out of the gutter.
Musically, it's an enjoyable experience of electronic beats and sounds. The depth in the texture divided between the lead vocals, the backing vocals, the various electronics, and the drums, allows for repeated listening to pick up something new each time. The deep bass will probably require nice stereo headphones to take in the full effect, and the background emotive vocal sounds are actually quite haunting when isolated. Check it out!
Fun dance music.
