Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 61.5/100, a mean average of 61.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 61.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 21.3.

Some great moments and pop songs like Space Bound, No Love and Not afraid. Unfortunately, like most 2010's Eminem album, it lacks consistency.
Recovery is Eminem's 3rd best album.
At his most vulnerable, he chronicles the up's and down's of addiction in a way only Eminem could.
A more mature offering in delivery and theme, it's refreshing to see Eminem look at this own reflection instead of bashing and judging others; even if that is more fun.
It's always an easier listen when someone sings about being on top and having it figured out. It's tougher to listen to someone on edge and see someone who has been on top feel so down trodden and low.
Add in some terrific beats, lyrics, and guest artists and you have a solid effort. It lacks the shock value of better known Eminem and the highs aren't as high but its an accomplished comeback record.
Eminem does a great job if bringing you along on his life journey and I thank him for it.
My least favorite in his discography. This album is mislabeled as a comeback. Eminem shines on a few tracks like Not Afraid and No Love but he is not even close to matching his greatness he showed on his early albums. Still a rap and lyrical genius but ultimately this is a disappointment. Will the real Slim-Shady please stand up?
Eminem shows the no advances of making a very similar songs´ album, most of the songs have got the same rhythm and sound, while he could show the highest perks making rap music, he´s got no excuse because the same year, West made a rap masterpiece, and Eminem is not giving a nice complex.
But, in any way, he made it good, not his best, but good, aceptable, and some songs are remarkable for his music history.
7.9/10
Best song: Almost Famous
Worst song: Love the Way you Lie
This album got shit on unnecessarily. His strongest post-Enimem Show album.
Looks like everybody don't seem to like this album (and I understand why) but for me, I think it's a very good album. Many powerful tracks are included here. But maybe somewhat shallow.
This is a good album. It definitely SOUNDS like a comeback, it has that confidence, and that refreshing quality, but it's not at the level of his pre-Encore material. It's just... really pop. Whatever, I'm complaining too much, I like it.
