Electric Ladyland (studio album) by The Jimi Hendrix Experience

Excellent songwriting and playing: perhaps the most stunning showcase of Hendrix's unmatched ability. 9.5/10!

No matter how many times I listen to this album which must number in the 100’s by now it blows my mind every time. Simply phenomenal

An experimental and rewarding record that is the very enjoyable to explore and analyse. On here we get a few of Hendrix's best ever songs with the peak of this coming right at the conclusion of the record. The quality of tracks 15 and 16 are undeniable and are arguably his two greatest ever songs. We also are treated to two incredible progressive songs that gives us a chance to truly listen and appreciate his skill. The two songs I am referring two are Voodoo Chile and 1983...(A Merman I Should Be) with both of these requiring patience when you first listen to them but after you begin to understand them better they will soon become a highlight of this album. The performances across the whole release are very strong with this probably being the best we have heard on a Hendrix record in terms of diversity and quality. However, there is filler on here and it is tough to sit through the entire run time and not lose interest at times due to a few songs that just feel insignificant. Overall, this is his best work with the brilliant instrumentation and great depth behind the music making it a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

One of the greatest rock albums I've ever heard. The title is fitting because this thing is electrifying from start to finish.

Solid album

A classic that stands the test of time. Jimi's version of 'All Along The Watchtower' is simply remarkable - giving the Dylan acoustic song a whole new life & audience. I have included Jimi's version in my 'top 100 Dylan covers' chart ~ it was one of the first to be added to the chart - the most iconic of Dylan covers.

Strong all the way, All along the Watchtower, Voodoo Chile (Both versions), Crosstown traffic. All very strong, but experimental songs. Would've been interesting to see what Jimi could have done after this album, because this is simply amazing. Not as strong as AYE, but definately worth the listen.

Highs: All along the Watchtower, Crosstown traffic, Voodoo Chile (Slight return)

Lows: Little miss strange, Long hot summer night

Not my favourite album ever, but i guess the best played ever...Talent at its top, impossible to reach... Actually subjective tastes have more parameters than single talent, but under this point of view, cannot be better.

Greatest Hendrix record, very entertaining and experimental at the same time. 1983 is underrated, and Voodoo Child sounds like invention of heavy metal.

All Along the Watchtower is EVERYTHING!
