One of if not the most nihilistic albums of all time. A love or hate situation. A hard pill to swallow.

What I like most about Animals is how “throw caution to the wind” many of the performances are.

While Gilmour’s guitar parts never fail to be emotive and brilliant, on this album his parts feel more wild and free. From the cheeky acoustic chords, to the talk box soloing, to the outro leads dripping in funky swagger. Even Waters’ bass parts take voicing in ways they hadn’t before. Rick Wright is once again the secret weapon to the album’s success, but once more is a jack-knife instrumentalist filling out the record with handfuls of different sounds.

Animals sonically is almost like Wish You Were Here from a different, more dark and angular plane.

Great album

A very good angry political prog album with tons of great solos. It ranks as the third best Pink Floyd album ahead of the Wall in my opinion!

As always with Pink Floyd since Meddle great album, great compositions, brilliant lyrics, I love it.
