Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.2/100, a mean average of 68.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.2.

Especially The Ride is very haunting, special and very good but also A Mother's Confession is really good: also funny that there a lot of references to Tom's Diner by Suzanne Vega near the end of the track. Maybe a bit too long and the intermissions are not really interesting but a worthwile listen.

The album cover tells you what to expect here , a naked Palmer baring all both literally and figuratively

First of all this album is quite the beast - 20 songs (10 of which are short interludes of 1-2 minutes) and 77 minutes so prepare for a long ride . Indeed there is no intermission

Secondly its one of those spill your guts , stream of consciousness type releases Ala Sun Kil Moon or Mount Eerie and generally I'm not a fan of this gene however I'm digging this album

Palmer is completely confessional here telling us EVERYTHING it seems from being seeded by cuming inside to shop lifting to fears of being a bad mother , nothing is off limits it appears and its all backed by a grand orchestral and piano score making for an intoxicating mix

This crowd funded album is well worth your time
