Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. At the time of its release (1979) I loved the opening track "Tragedy" and many of the songs which followed. In 2022 upon re-listening I was at falsetto-overload before the album reached its quarter mark. The singles still had something that resonated about them, but I had a difficult time listening to the album in single listen. Funny how time changes one's perceptions.

Despite the overly disco nature, the opener kicks pretty hard. The rest of the album is an abomination, including the sappy, saccharine ballad hits.

Big hits and a few poor songs.
Three #1 hits. Not unusual for this trio. Great singles band but terrible albums. Not in this case. The 3 year delay between full length albums seems to have delivered a an album with many good tunes.
