Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.7/100, a mean average of 79.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.3.

Excellent work from the Tangerine Dream heyday. Chris Franke's driving Moog Modular bass rhythms are an underlying feature throughout. Analogue drums also feature heavily, something not heard on Phaedra or Rubycon. The simple yet haunting piano introduction on side 2 is embellished with an eerie Mellotron flute ahead of another Franke sequence gradually rising from the ether. Side 2 holds the candle for me.
If this came out today, it would have smoked out the competition for electronic music releases. Is adventurous, gorgeous, and creates a world I want to venture through. And sounds magnificent. My criteria when rating for electronic music in general.
This album can mess with your brain in a good way. The polyrhythms and deep pulls of sound really can work on the brain and induce a deep relaxation. The sound is powerful, like waves and currents in the sea. Deeply good and trounces much bippity boppity electronic drivel. Probably the apogee in original electroni music.
Groundbreaking is the only way to describe this band. Ricochet is one of their finest recordings. Well produced and incredibly innovative, they set the standard for years to come.
Tangerine Dream were the first german electronic music band to reach international success and this is one of their best album
