Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.5/100, a mean average of 76.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 9.2.

One of the best of 2012, a very underrated indie rock classic. Great songwriters, consistent quality albums, and a bargain live show, check them out if you haven't had the chance.
Best Tracks: Lonesome, That Old Black Hole, Do the Trick, How Long Must I Wait
The quintessential Dr. Dog record. Fantastic Beatles like soft rock with fun lyrics that occasionally become something a little bit more meaningful. There's a reason these guys were so big in the underground scene around this time and it's a shame this place overlooks Dr. Dog so readily because they truly are something fantastic.
Something very nice and refreshing here. Saw these guys open for Lumineers and was surprised to hear something like that, really. After listening to this online, I got pretty hooked. Personally, this is my favorite Dr Dog album. Surprised that Do The Trick or Lonesome haven't really made it big yet, they seem like songs that are perfect for some radio time.
I’ve always maintained that if The Beatles were an indie rock band, they would be Dr. Dog. They have a very Beatles-esque sound but with a distinctive indie rock sound to it. It’s not as if they copy them directly like some bands do, but they have that Beatles feel to them. This album is yet another excellent album from Dr. Dog. Honestly, I don’t believe they’ve put out a bad album yet, they continue to be excellent and one can only wonder how much longer they will keep that up. I highly recommend this album as well as any other Dr. Dog album you may come across.
Most underrated band of today. Be the Void is the best album of 2012 that includes Jack White and Green Day. Melodies that reminiscent of the Beatles and the Beach Boys.
