Clássico.
Solid regular rock 'n' roll album, quite good for a debut. Obviously the classics here are American Girl and Breakdown.

An absolute classic and one of the greatest debut albums of all time.
Favorite Tracks:Breakdown, Hometown Blues
Just a great classic rock record with a great mix of new and old. I'm fascinated to learn that critics didn't really know where to place Tom Petty when he first hit the scene. Their debut is a consistently solid and confident one. There were plenty of hits yet to come.
Key Tracks: Fooled Again, American Girl, Wild One Forever and Hometown Blues

American Girl, Breakdown and the underrated Fooled Again are great tracks, the others are all good. One of the great debut albums.
This entire LP is good and consistent without a single bad track, very deserving of a strong 7/10. But then the final song plays, "American Girl" is enough to give this album an solid 8/10. It is, in my opinion, the perfect song. Listen to this album, you won't regret it.

Il primo disco omonimo di Tom Petty con gli Heartbreakers ( da sempre molto più che un gruppo spalla… ) è sempre stato il mio preferito della sua discografia, pur essendo un disco imperfetto o forse proprio per quello. Un disco di mezz'ora dove non toglieresti né aggiungeresti niente, come si faceva una volta. Spiccano la ballata "Luna" e due pezzi da novanta come "Breakdown" e "American girl".
