Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.6/100, a mean average of 77.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.5.

Third great album with a richer rounder sound this time. I'm not a big fan of Street Life. It was the single and rather overplayed as a result but the rest is great.
I bought Stranded by Roxy Music on 25/08/2001 from on CD for £1.67 The version I have is on the record label E'G catalogue number EGCD 10 It entered the UK charts on 01/12/1973 and got to number 1 spending a total of 17 weeks on the chart.
The first Roxy Music album after the departure of Brian Eno. Stranded, is an excellent record, it still retains that art-rock sound, although, in truth, is doesn't quite have that quirky edge that the first two Roxy LP's did. Still, there sure some superb tracks. Street life, is a brilliant opener, and, amazona, and, a song for Europe, are also highlights. There's no weak moments here, and there were still another two excellent Roxy albums to come(three if you count, avalon). Wonderful.
This is a wonderful album. I love 'Mother of Pearl'.
Brian Ferrys voice and singing style is beyond description.
