The highest ranked compilation album in the BEA top 500 pretty much says it all. If you’ve never heard this compilation but don’t know 90% of the tracks already, well you simply haven’t been paying attention

The first four songs are great, but it gets reeeeeeeeeally monotonous real quick. Every song might be great on it's own, but one right after the other is tiring.
This is a compilation, so it is hard to rate it the same way as other albums. Anyway, this is an excellent starting point if you are unfamiliar with this music genre and then you can decide if you want to go deeper (in my case I didn't).

Certainly best-in-class as far as compilations go, but it misses the intensity of the mid-70s Island albums.
Great compilation if your one who only likes a touch of quality reggae every now and then

My only issue with this album is people act like this is the only Bob Marley album in existence, or it's the only one they need.
