Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 48.8/100, a mean average of 47.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 47.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 21.0.

Not as bad as some of the reviews but it does sound like The Clash by numbers. The ideas must have left the band for Big Audio Dynamite with Mick Jones

Not actually that bad. This is England shines above the rest of the songs though.

How do you write a song like "This is England" and decide that 11 shitty songs would be nice next to it.

A clash album in name but not spirit. Even a bit of an unsettling "Oi" vibe around this one which is definitely not the clash.

This would be a masterpiece if they didn't include Dictator, Are You Red... Y, Cool Under Heat Movers and Shakers, Three Card Trick, Play to Win, Fingerpoppin', North and South, and Life Is Wild.

Skip this one. It deserves the negative reputation.

Last call to arms for The Clash. 'We Are the Clash' and 'This Is England' are the ones to get.

There's no real Clash without Mick Jones.
Some songs on here are pretty good but the bad production ruins it.
