Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 81.8/100, a mean average of 81.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 83.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.0.

Fantastic JB comp... this one truly smokes!! A perfect party platter, and great place for newcomers to begin. All these essential tracks are available on the expansive "Star Time" comp, released the same year. Can't find any fault with this tasty collection, but you'll most likely wish to seek out more JB after whetting your appetite with this savory offering!

This album is a great collection of all of James Brown's absolute mega-hits. Of course he has written so many great songs that this is simply a skimming of the absolute best songs.

One of my favourite compilation albums because it has the great hist from all his phases. Even the early pre-funk stuff.

This is it folks!..The one-place stop for all-good James Brown quickness! No other compilation is as good for the price and it's got all the early hits. Everything is great by this artist but when you want brevity this is where to go! Live at the Apollo is his absolute best work but that's just for the James Brown fans man! I want to help create disciples with this compilation. Check it out & believe my brothas & sistas!
