For me,this was a very boring year for music,even worser than 2011.And that year sucked.
2010 was an amazing year for music and apparently,the last one. 😢
After 2 years,I still have 88 albums I can call "great" from that year
From 2011 I only have about 30.From 2012 about 6 good albums,only 3 of them great.

yea it is, i don't really know how to describe their style, I just like the album

Looking at upcoming releases on metacritic (basically through june), i'm not that excited. I think it's partly because most of my current/modern favorites have no releases scheduled for 2012. But what i've heard so far this year has been underwhelming.

But i don't mean to drag down your party.

Django Django, I was meaning to listen to that one. I realy don't know what to expect from that but it did have a pretty cover... maybe. Was it the one with the desert?

I wouldn't say its been a bad year, just a slow one thusfar. There are a number of albums I've been impressed by so far, namely 'Port of Morrow' by The Shins, 'Wrecking Ball' by Bruce Springsteen and Django Django's debut, plus there's Jack White's new one out next week.

There has been some good albums released this year. It is missing something to match 2010 or 2011 though. We'll have to see how things turn out.

The collaboration of Steve Hogarth and Richard Barbieri brings me to another level. I cannot believe it's not in the 2012-list yet.

But so far 2012 is a great musical year and there's more to come: Rush, Marillion, QOTSA, Soundgarden, Suicidal Tendencies.

Here's what blew my mind in 2012

Flying Colors-Flying Colors (missing that one too, a nice album featuring Neal Morse, Steve Morse, Casey MacPherson, Mike Portnoy and Dave LaRue)
Blaudzun-Heayv Flowers
First Aid Kit-The Lion's Roar
Steve Hogarth/Richard Barbieri-Not The Weapon But The Hand
Bertolf-Bertolf

Yeah, I've liked most of the albums I've heard too.

And I thought Grimes' Visions (especially 🤤 ), Frankie Rose's Interstellar, and Kindred are all really great. Still looking forward to hearing Beach House, High on Fire, Mars Volta, mewithoutYou, Shearwater, Chromatics, amongst others!

It doesn't seem to be a fruitful year for music, no, but to say it's the worst is a bit of an exaggeration, I'd say.

I'd say a sluggish start but were already a third of the way through. I haven't really properly liked anything this year apart from "Attack On Memory" which I gave a generous 80/100 (I might consider changing that). There have been a few songs that I've enjoyed. I'm looking forward to Jack White's new album, he's a safe pair of hands. But yeah for the most part the year has been pretty poor.

2012, a little more-so than 2011 was, has been pretty disappointing for me so far. Never would've thought my top 3 would be fun., cloud nothings and chairlift at this point.. After being floored by the awesomeness of 2010 releases, i've been waiting to be floored again.

One of my fav artists, hot chip, will have something new soon, so i look forward to that, plus fiona. But i like to take this time in-between releases of artists i already like to discover "new" (to me) artists, and i just haven't been impressed.

Fiona Apple is releasing a new album? That automatically makes 2012 better than 2011 in my book.

Listen to the new Chromatics, Big K.R.I.T. & Beach House. They're all pretty good.

But, yeah, it's been a very subtle year for music 😕
