Wouldn't it be better if the albums were chosen completely randomly, the only criteria being that it's not from those countries mentioned?

Then again, if none of the albums' songs have been rated, RFNaples' head might explode trying to figure out the best track...

^ I think a better alternative would be to soften the criteria (for 'World' AOTD) a bit so more albums can qualify. At least enough for a year or however many days until an album can re-enter this version of AOTD.

What about of the Week? Since there's clearly a fraction of the number being entered as there is from the big 5 you mentioned it may not warrant being every day...or is that too long a wait?

(N.B. Using the existing selection criteria, only 134 'world' albums currently qualify for AOTD.)

I support this.

I try to find as many albums from countries that I don't usually hear from, but it's difficult. I recently listened to an album from Iran and loved it.

Brazil, Chile, Bahamas, Japan, etc...all have really interesting music that I want to listen to 😄

Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure it will favor little-known bands or music. We will probably see more from Sigur Rós, Bob Marley, Björk, Daft Punk, Can and Kraftwerk than we are used to. If there was made a rule about regular "album of the day"-albums couldn't appear again as "international album of the day"-albums, it would probably ensure more variety that way.
