Although technically, it could be argued that Joanna Jewsom really willfully indulged in, and could even be said to have picked fights with Naples frequently that turned into epic rhetorical battles. Oh, those were the days! 🤣

I remember when I first joined and was really into the forums, I was astonished at how often he posted. It honestly seemed like he spent every waking hour on bea. I mean some of his posts had about 10 linked videos and looked like they took about an hour to compile. I wondered if he was some creepy obese dude sitting in a dark basement somewhere and hardly ever leaving the house. Still do wonder that 🤔 .

Either way though I always got along with him, shame he was so abusive to so many.

My time here only overlapped with Gary's for a couple months but he definately didn't make the forums a better place. He spammed up every thread and tried his hardest to insult everyone. If a user is ruining the forums and making BEA a less fun place to be then Albummaster is right to ban them.

As for RFNaples I don't think it's fair to compare them really, I don't agree with Naples much but we know his game and he's mostly harmless. Plus the politics section would be way more boring if everyone agreed with each other.

It's weird how GARY was very abusive but none of his new accounts were like that. He seems very good at covering himself up in terms of content, although the style of his posts, as well as always saying the username of the person he's talking to, is still the same. And no, I don't want him back.

Though I wasn't registered as this user in GARY's prime, I did lurk around a bit on the site and saw a lot of his posts. If there's one thing I('ll) miss, it's the way his posts looked like: extreme use of emoticons, letters in different sizes and colours, loads of paranthesis (when promoting Ron Paul), huge gaps between paragraphs, pictures and YouTube videos everywhere (mostly dealing with Illuminati or Iron Maiden) and very abusive language. An extremely unique and recognizable style. I've tried to copy it, but I've no idea how he managed to post like that

Though it's the style of the posts I miss, not the actual content

Not at all. Gary definitely was violently abusive at times. His bans were not undeserved, to say the least.

Three things:

-I'd say only 3 bans in 7 years is a good track record.
-I knew about the immature posting but not about the PMs.
-"dragon skin" made me laugh 😄 but "working overtime" seems to be an overstatement (couldn't prove it of course, just smells fishy 🤔 )

That's it, I've said my say. Just one thing... about PMs. Can you block people? I'd do that if anybody kept sending me unpleasant messages.

@Squishy: I think a really angry foulmouthed Eggman would be entertaining. ...not that I'm encouraging that 😨
@itsit: I think politics are boring and even depressing in a way. I prefer music 😄

If you're trying to imply that this place is ban happy, that accusation is false. With (from memory) only 3 significant users banned in 6-7 years I think it's pretty clear only extreme and consistent nasty forum behaviour warrants a ban.

When GARY was at his worst no one really wanted to b here. The mods were working overtime, as opposed to now we're we practically do nothing (a good forum is one where mods don't have to interfere at all). And your "thick-skin" comment? Have you noticed the way we talk to each other? Have you seen the way I talk to people on here? Regular users who stick around have dragon skin so don't try and pull that shit, please 😁 GARY wasn't pure evil but he certainly turned lots of users, who could take any kind of abuse or joke and had been around longer than GARY, away. And that's nothing to take lightly. None of this even begins to mention his behaviour off the forums (I.e PM's).

So I understand your desire to give an alternate perspective but GARY's been given lots of chances and every time all view points have been considered and agonized over before coming to a hard decision.

I'll just give suggestions and off-beat opinions here and there. Albummaster does an excellent job overall, and I admire the dedication and care for the progression of BEA.

(Edit: I realize the first paragraph comes across a bit harsh. I'm not trying to start shit. Nothing personal, just getting a point across.)

If someone has a problem with somebody else, then PM myself or a moderator and it can be dealt with in private. There's a difference between a personality clash between two people and the sort of thing that was happening earlier this year when the whole board was affected.
