Won't let me quote so:
Little Richards vocie is hardly cringeworthy, he's not like that guy from Midnight oil or anything. plus it's ncie to see a 50's singer with energy considering you had people like bo diddley, chuck berry and bill haley with such dull voices.
Also Tutti Frutti had to be changed, look up the original lyrics and you'll know why.

Yeah, too bad the rest of the album isn't as good, even if some tracks come close.

I'd put it third on the Most Consistent Beatles Albums list, after Pepper and self-titled like I said, and possibly tied with MMT.
The correct answer is Abbey Road.

And Please Please Me is far better than Here's Little Richard. But I still wouldn't call either 'great'. I think I give Please Please Me a 70/100

itsit wrote:

Also how is Little Richard annoying? He's certainly the mos energetic of the 50's acts and stuff like Ready tedy and Rip It Up kicks the shit out of anything else from that era.

He just is. His voice is cringeworthy. 😕 It's just....ugh. Tutti Frutti seems like it was written for a 4 year old, with a completely inappropriate topic for that age group.

Quote:

YO ARE FUCKING AWEDSOMEEEEE!!!!!

Was everyone on this site drunk last night? 🤣 Why do people go on this site when they're drunk? You should be outside. Having fun n stuff.

But, likewise, you are correct.
The Beatles WERE influential in that matter, but only much later on and if we go by quality, they only released two consistent albums in their career: Sgt. Pepper and possibly The White Album too.

Quote:

Please Please Me was the beginning of the change in how albums were viewed in rock, and it's my opinion that it's an important part of what the album is about.

But, hey. If that's retarded logic, then good for you.

I don't quite see what separates Please Please Me from the rock and roll records of the '50s. It's not that special, and, more importantly, not that great.

Jackwc wrote:

That's retarded logic. I don't listen to music for its relative qualities. If it's good, it's good. If it's bad, it's bad. If it's Please Please Me, it's stupid, repetitive, unimaginative tripe.

Oh, and Chuck Berry Is On Top, Chirping Crickets, Elvis Presley, Here's Little Richard, and Bo Diddley are all better rock and roll albums than Please Please Me (even though some of them themselves aren't that great) and predate it by quite a bit.

And by the way....Chuck Berry Is On Top is a singles collection (some of the songs, like "Maybelline", were released 4 years earlier). Here's Little Richard contains many singles that had been released over the previous two years. Bo Diddley is a straight compilation album. (I'd have thought you'd know that.) My point, if you gave a shit, is that the album was a MOSTLY non-existent form in rock the way The Beatles used it UNTIL The Beatles did it. I'll give you Elvis Presley (although it contains some schlock), and The "Chirpin' Crickets". But those are rare from that time. Please Please Me was the beginning of the change in how albums were viewed in rock, and it's my opinion that it's an important part of what the album is about.

But, hey. If that's retarded logic, then good for you.
