Sonic Youth aren't exciting, they just have very good guitars. I have only heard three Sonic Youth albums, and I prefer Daydream Nation because it's the longest and therefore have the greatest amount of very good guitars

It wouldn't make much sense for me to rank them. At one point or another I've had either Daydream Nation, EVOL, Sister, Bad Moon Rising or Washing Machine as my favorite sonic album.

I haven't heard all of them, but for the one's I know and have listened to:

1. Daydream Nation
2. Murray Street (underrated later album)
3. Goo
4. Sister
5. Evol
6. Dirty
7. Rather Ripped
8. Washing Machine

These ones I don't like:

9. A Thousand Leaves (Didn't like except for a few songs)
10. Experimental Jet Set (Never made an impression on me. I used to have it, but didn't keep it)
11. NYC Ghosts and Flowers (Listened to once... Meh!)

Is The Eternal good? Never got around to checking out Bad Moon Rising, but I will one of these days.
