Not that I like his music, but if Skrillex wasn't so popular, he would be hailed as the most innovative electronic producer since Justice.

I'm going to assume you mean the stuff with the distorted mid-range, e.g. Skrillex. Dubstep is only like 10-15 years old. It was an offshoot of UK garage, grime and 2-step, and has gone on to to incorporate elements of house, techno, reggae and ambient music amongst other genres. What I think you are referring to is "brostep", Americanised dubstep aimed at frat boys. Which is clearly shit.

Hello. I am Happymeal. I am pretty new here, but i've posted around here a few times before introducing myself. My favorite musical artist is Modest Mouse. My favorite genre is Indie rock, but I basically listen to anything other than dubstep. I am always open to new music of course.
