If I hadn't forgotten to vote for 2003, it probably would have.

Wow surprised that '12 team beat mine. 1-3 record for 2003 with an even plus minus. Son of a bitch. 🧱

Times ticking folks! Vote 2012 now! But don't take my word for it, take a look at these possibly fake quotes I may have made up:

Visions

"The best damn thing to ever have existed"

- Jesus

The Idler Wheel

"Fiona Apple > The Shins"

- Every single smart person

In Our Heads

"At least it's better than that Mars Volta filth"

- CellarDoor

Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!

"Godspeed's undisputed best."

-Godspeed You! Black Emperor

Yes obviously as the captain of 2003 I posted positive reviews and quotes of the albums...

All great albums have haters.

2003 albums in the words of BEA members:

The Shins- Chutes Too Narrow

"This is just a great album that has everything: great singing, strong lyrics and songwriting. The compositions here stand with the best of all time. If they were sung by a monkey, the songs would still be just beautiful but instead they are served by James Mercer. Eyewateringly great."
-Jhuik

"The shins "chutes too narrow" is another indie pop gem. Each song could've been a radio hit."
-Paladisiac

"Is it their best? I'm not sure...

That is not a reflection on this album at all - the others are just as equally stunning. It's tough to determine out the first three Shins albums. Just a shining star."
-junodog4

Death Cab For Cutie- Transatlanticism

"Death Cab's finest moment."
-rkjones10

"I'm listening to this a lot these days... Expo '86 is my favourite, but there's plenty to enjoy here."
-19loveless91

"So far, this is Death Cab's peak... They're a talented band with a lot of potential and Ben Gibbard is a talented songwriter."
-Mr. Shankly

The Mars Volta- Deloused In The Comatorium

"This record works on so many different levels. It will stand the test of time."
-AnthraxHamRadio

"epic bro"
-kwpreston

"the mars volta's work and especially De-loused is a very good progressive rock album."
-cartoken

The Books- The Lemon Of Pink

"The title track is honestly one of the best songs I've ever heard. Fantastic album to go along with it, but I could listen to that song forever"
-Hayden

"There is no there is the greatest song ever created."
-mikeaaron

Pitchfork's 8.7 average rating would disagree.

Just for funsies:

Combined Pitchfork score of 2012 albums = 34.8 (8.7 avg)
Combined Pitchfork score of 2003 albums = 28.6 (7.15 avg)

Hipsters UNITE. You know in your hearts 2012 is the right choice, so be like Nike and just do it.

2012 team is clearly objectively and statistically better.
