I am currently listening to all my albums in chronological order to improve my charts. I would like to finish this exercise. I am currently in 1998.

After that I'd like to find some more post 2010 music to enjoy and build a connection with. I seem to be stuck in a pre-millenium rut.

Anyways, resolutions:

Try to follow along with 2013.
Maybe listen to a few more albums of 2012, but nothing has extremely impressed me other than some albums that aren't considered to be the greatest of the year.
Perhaps listen to more music?

This. Holidays will start earlier this year, so hopefully I and the rest of the band will get enough time to record at least an EP.

Also, not so much listening releated, but hopefully get on with some indie rock blog or music writing whatever at whatever college I'll be attending in the fall. I tried this a few times in high school and never really worked out, but I'm hoping I can somehow manage to do it in college somehow. 🙏

-Get more into rap/hip-hop. I've only scratched the surface with a couple of albums (Nas, Wu-Tang, Lamar), but it's a pretty much undiscovered genre for me.
-Listen to 200 2012 albums, then 200 2013 albums.
-Begin and hopefully finish my first release. Maybe it doesn't come out like complete crap, with some luck.

that's less than one a day 😉 and on average I listen to 10 albums a week which equates to 520 albums a year. So really it's not enough!

I agree. I mean, I definitely listen to more than 150 albums a year.. if you count repeating an album. Are people really just listening to an album once and then moving on? That can't possibly be the best way to get all the greatness out of the music.

not stagnate musically. that's about it. i guess that's my goal (musically) perpetually. i don't want to be listening to the same stuff a year from now. i mean, it's ok if i go back to albums, but in terms of what i'm listening to a lot, i want it to constantly change.

Well considering I've listened to more 2012 albums (over 150) than I have for the entire decade of the 60s - I want to start listening to more 50s, 60s and 70s music and go way past the obvious favourites (of which I've listened to most anyway).

- Listen to what's left to listen to from the Swans Discography
- Listen to the Singles that got good reviews from Resident advisor
