always great to give some love back to BEA, it certainly has given me more listening options than I thought was possible before joining this site. Well here are some albums I was either suggested by certain users or found through their charts, or perhaps they have just mentioned it in the forums:

And I hope it works as a sort of take-a-penny, leave-a-penny system, as I'll continue to sing the praises of the likes of Carina Round, Dramarama, Current 93, A Fine Frenzy, The Softies, Julie Doiron, Fred Thomas's various projects, Taken by Trees, fIREHOUSE, Soul Coffing, Gravenhurst and of course the Shangri-Las, in the hopes that more users here will listen and enjoy these very underrated bands. The only way I think to properly thanks BEA for all the great recs is to give some back in return.

The most obvious one is Diablo Swing orchestra but the list would be too long. I am even starting to feel some love for post-rock and have really got into the latest Godspeed You black Emperor (can never recall where the !s go).

Damn you BEA, you are teaching me and opening me up to new things .... Damn you.

There are 2 BEA members to whom I'm eternally grateful:

Magenta - my sister-in-twee from over the sea... The Dentists, Close Lobsters and a fair few others I'd dare wager have all wormed their way onto my mp3 player of late.
Mind Movie - who seems to have vanished (a great shame) - a constant source of inspiriation from a 60s/70s psych/prog point of view, and responsible for Catherine Ribiero and The Alpes' "Paix" finding it's way into my top 100.

There's also a fair-few like-minded souls on here (Norman, Cellardoor, Daftpunter, LancashireArab) whose charts always fascinate, and often remind me about records I'd completely forgotten about buying and that were invariably buried at the bottom of a cupboard.

Someone also once recommended This Will Destroy You's self-titled LP. I've completely forgotten who this was so apologies, but although post-rock rarely tends to push the right buttons for me I think 'Threads' from this album is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard.

I tried out Stevie Wonder because a few people said I should try out artists like him. I didn't expect EVERY song on "Songs in the Key of Life" to be good!

Since that died down that was me. Did you like it? I recommended it because you've got a couple of Butthole Surfers albums and they're from the same scene, though often overlooked.
