So I was picking up concert tickets at my favourite local record shop AND THERE IT WAS, MELLON COLLIE IN ALL IT'S $70 GLORY.

Once I have some actual money and a job, I am so buying that shit.

The Siamese Dream reissue wasn't HALF that expensive. I got it at Rotate This or Sonic Boom for, like, $35.

I won't quote all the people, but yeah. It's rumoured to be $250 in Canada. Maybe not the states. The CONFIRMED price in the UK is 192 pounds. Which, I actually think equals about $350 in the USA or something (not sure).

Either way, the original disc in Canada is about $40 🤣

There's a whole bunch of extra cut tracks and alternative takes....And some other stuff.

I honestly don't see the point of buying it 😐 I do like the new album art though.

If it's over $100, i'll tell my wife to nevermind. Don't want to pay that much for an album i already have.

And as to the "if it's not on the cd, there's a reason for it" comment -- i own a handful of these extra songs as b-sides of cd singles, and some of them are just as good as some of the other stuff on mellon collie. Even the "song" which amalgamates a bunch of billy corgan guitar jams altogether is enlightening for how many good riffs went unused. This guy was on a creative tear between Siamese Dream and this double-disc.

But yeah, $250? No way. It's my 2nd favorite album of all-time, but there are a lot better uses for $250 out there.

Even with my favorite band now (PJ), when they release remastered versions and what not of old albums, I don't think it's worth the money. Just a way to bulge the wallets a bit more. And when it comes to Billy Corgan, I'm all set with that. He needs to fade into the sunset, leaving his early masterpieces to age gracefully like they have so far.
