I try to tackle these questions the same way I would approach a physics or mathematics equation. What are the implications of this statement? Assume that the world is a computer simulation - how would this differ from a non-computer simulation world and how can we test it?

Just kidding Applerill. Although it was a fucking stupid thing to say, and that attitude reeks of someone who just doesn't understand the concept remotely and is thus quick to dismiss it, probably because it confuses them and doesn't fit into their safe, narrow and ultimately limited worldview.
