For years it was Alice Cooper. The Alice Cooper Show featured a giant TV screen that the band was hidden behind. Cheesy video effects, people dressed as spiders and most of the songs being from a crappy album made it really bad. That, and he told the audience 2 songs in that it was the last stop on the tour and they were tired, so "sorry if we suck". They did.

This was replced a couple of years back by My Morning Jacket at the Ogden Theater in Denver. Jim Jones hs a good voice...why they insist on burying it in echo and other effects is beyond me. The sound at this show was so bad I had to walk out halfway through...it was so bad I couldn't even tell what songs they were playing. The first time I've ever walked out on a show. Absolutely terrible.

Ha ha, I had a similar experience at Oasis in 2005, only not vomit, got hit by a flying cup of piss and it was dripping off my nose. I smelt like sugar puffs for the rest of the gig.

Cage the Elephant was the worst performance I have heard...

Only thing to second that was PJ Harvey in 2001... I don't think it was her fault, but the sound engineer.

Its a close call but there are 2 that stand out as terrible gigs that I've been to over the years. I think the worst was the Stone Roses at Sheffield Arena December 1995. Reni had already left and it was only a few weeks before John Squire quit as well. I've seen Ian Brown a few times and he's not the best live singer but he was really bad on this night. John Squire thought he was Jimmy Page and there was endless guitar solos in the songs (nothing wrong with that as a rule but they just got tedious) I remember breaking into heaven lasting for what seemed like an eternity. Their was no chemistry between the band and the atmosphere was flat as a pankake and I left really dissapointed. Must say they were back on form when I saw them at Heaton Park last year though.

A close second is the Charlatans at the Manchester Academy on the You Cross My Path tour, the 8th and what will probably be the last time I watch them live going of this performance. To start with, the album they were touring was shocking and I've never seen a band so uninterested in being on stage. Tim Burgess had transformed himself (again) as he seems to have done with each of their last few albums and was prancing round the stage like Mika, no quality in his voice or delivery of the songs and seemed more interested in dancing and striking poses. (The clue was there when the single they released was called Oh vanity!) You could see the rest of the band staring at him with expressions that said "for fucks sake tim, sort it out!". Usually a great live band and haven't missed them since the 95 tour but they were that bad we all left halfway through the gig and went to the pub across the road. Never a good sign.

Sad to hear the In Rainbows tour was a let down for some people, I saw them in Manchester on that tour and it was a brilliant gig. They Changed their setlist quite a lot on each night on that tour though an I was lucky enough to get a In Rainbows, OK computer and the Bends heavy set with only a few of KId A, Amnesiac and Hail to the The Thief, which suited me.

Never cared enough to seek out the answer. Was just happy as hell to walk out of there when it was over. Honestly I enjoyed Sebastian Bach way more...and he basically sucked too.

I liked them better than Filter. The Filter comes on something like 10pm and frankly their lead singer was/is such an egotist that I was completely put off. Wife and I left 5 songs into their set for the long drive home to Vermont.

If we are counting festival performances it would be GnR at last years bridge school benefit, they showed up late so they had to move their set back, and they played a really crappy acoustic set.

"Guns N Roses" about 5 years ago in Worcester, MA, which was really just Axl Rose and random company. It was one of the many Chinese Democracy tours but still years before it was actually released. A friend dragged me there. Axl was 1 1/2 hrs late...everyone standing there (general admission) like dopes waiting for the stupid cocksucker to finally show up. This was a day after he blew off a show in Portland, ME. I wasn't excited to see him in the first place, so standing there while my legs and back were killing me was just about the most annoyed I'd ever been. He finally showed up, proceeded to immediately mispronounce the name of the city, and put on a terrible performance. Luckily the rest of the band mostly drowned out his horrid voice (by design I'm sure).

Actually, my worst concert might be beach house. They're just not a great "live" band, plus the people I went with clearly did NOT like beach house, which was a buzzkill. Plus I was honestly way too high to fully appreciate it...
