Longer:
Golden Slumbers (The Beatles)- Could have made a whole great song instead of just keeping it part of the medley, but I get why they did.

Shorter:
Kashmir, When the Levee Breaks, Stairway to Heaven- just chop of 1 to 2 minutes of repetitive parts and the songs would be much better IMO.

Plenty of examples, most obvious for me would be Echoes by Pink Floyd, it could lose 15 minutes easily.

Almost every song on 20/20 Experience should've been shorter by three minutes. Then I would've been able to appreciate the album.

I think I'm the only one who finds the length of 20/20 to be... kind of endearing, actually. Normally I'm one for short and sweet, but for whatever reason I think JT does really well with how long the songs are.

Agreed, infact I'd go as far to say most of the songs on MBDTF are too long - most of the featuring artists add very little to the song when they're just glued on at the end - Monster is strong because all the MCs share time, which is how featuring an artist should be done.

So Appalled sounds to me like a bunch of guys just moaning for six minutes.

I think Runaway is a couple minutes too long. Blame Game as well.
Also, In My Time of Dying, off of Physical Graffiti, should only have been like 5 minutes long instead of ten.

Songs that should be longer: Songs I really like and want to hear more of.
Song that should be shorter: Songs I either don't like or songs when my attention span is on the fritz.

Am I the only one that things this thread is silly?

I'd wish the chorus of I Threw It All Away by Bob Dylan would appear more than just once in the song as it's prolly my favorite chorus ever

Agreed, Drive is the perfect length. The tune becomes almost like a lullaby, it totally spaces you out - perfect opener.

I always thought Kashmir is awfully long, and being one the LZ tracks I consider among their most overrated, the almost 9-minute length doesn't help me to enjoy it a lot. Sorry fellas! As for the "too short" argument, well, definitely Fell In Love With A Girl and Elizabeth My Dear.

Nearly all pop/charting song nowadays which clock over Good Vibrations would be better if shorter.

Diff'rent Strings by Rush just ends when it starts.
