I really think What's Going On by Marvin Gaye is really a love album to all of life.

Blood On the Tracks is another "love" theme great.
True, but I would say specifically, A Hard Day's Night is the most consistent love-themed album, with two exceptions: You Can't Do That, which is the possessive, vindictive variety, and I'll Cry instead, which is a sort of male reaction to being dumped. Leave it to John Lennon to write those kind of songs. But it doesn't get more lovey dovey than If I Fell, And I Love Her, Any Time at All, and Things We Said Today.

Not to mention And I Love Her is a great piece of music regardless of theme.

Marvin Gaye - Let's Get it On
Lionel Richie - Can't Slow Down (definitely 'uncool' but this is still a great love album)
Whitney Houston - Whitney (she has an incredible voice and the songs on this album are fantastic)

Personally, I think soul artists make the best love albums but that's another debate...

I quite agree, for some reason, that is the case..another example the album, "Mighty Love', by the Spinners..and Whitney does have an incredible instrument and off topic I thought that her version of "I'm every woman" was better than Chaka's although I have a huge Chaka Kahn fan.

my bad, i forgot the 'albums' part of the question. anyway, also look to lust for life; not all the songs are about loving another person, and most are more lustful than loving, but i'm gonna find a way to sneak that in here

spiritualized's 'ladies and gentlemen...' is an album dedicated to heartbreak. some great songs about heartbreak that come to mind include joy division's 'love will only tear us apart,' nirvana's 'heart shaped box,' and the beatles' 'for no one.' oh yeah, lcd soundsystem's got all i want, someone great, and i can change... everyone decent has a decent love song, though this field is definitely dominated by the beatles

I know you guys aren't going to like this but I would say that "The Wedding Album" by Leon and Mary Russell is the most romantic album I can think of, it is on my top 50 buy is no longer available so you can't listen to unfortunately....Every song is an expression of their love for each other, something very rare in pop/rock history.

As, Mr Shankly said, Al Green, Aretha Franklin, but add Sam Cooke and The Four Tops to that list

The Album "Firsts Days Of Spring" by Noah & The Whale, I feel is a very moving album, as is Little Earthquakes, Pet Sounds, Nebraska is very moving,
and In The Aeroplane over the sea

Youkoso! Hitori Bocchi, is a really good song, especially if you know Japanese/look up the lyrics.
