Tonight I plan on re listening to Murmur in celebration of its 30th anniversary.

It kinda worked that way for me. The first times, I thought it was a good, honest alt album, but not much more. Months later, I listened to The Replacements, and Tim reminded me of Murmur, for some reason. So I gave it another spin right after the end of Tim, and that was a totally different experience. I was at the library, but that was so good I couldn't even manage to work ^^ Now it's on my chart, and it's not leaving it anytime soon (except for another R.E.M. album, maybe...).

Give it time, and it'll probably click someday. Or tonight. It's not many people's R.E.M. favorite for no reason 😉

Yeah. I've personally always felt Bowie was one of the most over-appreciated artist or, actually, just one of the most iconic artists I never understood the greatness of .
Yeah, I've been looking forward to this date like a little Iver excited geek for a couple weeks.

I chose Murmur as that is the only album of the three I have heard in full. Marley's album seems amazing! I got introduced to Slave Driver by Taj Mahal's version on his album Mo' Roots (criminally ignored album and musician on this site anyway). And everything else I've heard from Catch A Fire is stellar!

Aladdin Sane I am least familiar with. Heard nothing but good things 'bout it though!

All three are great. Catch A Fire is my second favourite Wailers album, after Burnin', whilst Murmur is probably my favourite REM album. Aladdin Sane is pretty dope too. Quite a good date in music, it would appear.
