Yeah , I heard you're seeing maiden again! Iron maiden was actually the first show I ever saw. I was 10, and it was for the Brave New World tour in like '99. I think.

Anyway, just curious, which Priest do you have in your chart? What do you think of "Sad Wings of Destiny"? That's really the only album of their I like.

Wow, I didn't know Iron Maiden's debut and "British Steel" was released on the same day! Awesome. The Priest album is very good, lots of great songs and a couple of not-so-great songs, but overall an enjoyable listen. The Maiden record is sublime, my favourite debut ever, possibly. Every song is killer, but my favourites are "Remember Tomorrow", "Phantom of the Opera" and "Strange World". Pure magic. I don't think "Killers" is as good, but later albums would surpass the debut.

I love Bowie, but I've never checked out "Let's Dance", nor do I really want to.

I'm not really into metal, but Iron Maiden has some fantastic tracks on that album. Their "Phantom of the Opera" is great.

I have to go with Bowie though. Three great typical 80s songs, and then a series of not nearly as good songs, but it's still an enjoyable listen.

None of these are particularly albums that get a lot of love here on BEA. But they all have some merit and influence and importance. "British Steel" is one of the most respected heavy metal albums ever. I think it has some super weak tracks, and earlier Priest is much more solid. Love "Sad Wings of Destiny".

The maiden album is a good debut. Doesn't get as much love as any of the following 4 albums in their discography. I never liked Bruce Dickenson as a vocalist and he is absent in this and their sophomore album, "Killers". The vocalist here is not that amazing either in my opinion either. Rob Halford kicks both their asses!

The Bowie album I have never heard, but have heard of. I know this is the album that sorta first made Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughan, blues-guitar extraordinaire, a big name in music. And you know I love SRV. I'll have to give this a listen in celebration of its 30th anniversary.... I guess.
