Gotta go with Heartbreaker, I'm a big fan of it, the NSB album was very good in parts, but other parts just drag on and do nothing for me, going to give it another shot now however.

I'm saying that albums can be reminding of environment. They can be reminding of a place, but what I'm talking about specifically is weather/temperature. I'm saying that many albums you enjoy may be relating to a warmer temperature. There are albums that relate more to a spring-like weather and environment, like Ys could be an example. Some can be reminding of colder environment and temperature like The Mantle or most if all Sigur Ros albums. This is often more of an unconscious thing, and I think every album can relate to temperature at least in the slightest if one focuses on that aspect. I believe you generally relate to warmer sounds. Maybe.

The Natural Snow Buildings album is long as fuck, but I'm enjoying what I've heard of it so far. I have never really been that into Ryan Adams, but I'll give him another listen before voting.

The Natural Snow Buildings album was pretty good, but Heartbreaker takes it for me. It's just a great album.

I'm probably one of the few BEA users who doesn't love the Natural Snow Buildings album. On the other hand, I don't like Heartbreaker that much either.

Looks like I'll have to vote for the former.

By the way, it's Dance of the Moon and the Sun, not the Sun and the Moon 🤣

This album got me into Natural Snow Buildings, whom I now adore, sorry Ryan. I still really enjoy Heartbreaker though.

Dance of the Moon and The Sun may be filled with the sort of atmospheric, obscure, ancient sounding drones which make the listener feel like they're transcending space and time......but it also captures the simplicity and emotional purity of the best folk music. You can even hear the ghost of Popol Vuh's spirituality floating around at times. I'm definitely voting for Natural Snow Buildings.

First off, much respect to the other album and captain. My album has perhaps less #abstractqualities... Unless you play it backwards, then you literally hear The Tibetan book of the dead in Sanskrit with tribal drums and droning electronics in the background. Pretty wild.

Now....

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams

This "Heartbreaker" album is pretty amazing! It's a Melancholy-Blues drenched Minor Key master work. Contains some haunting and biting and brutally honest lyrics of love and loneliness and just the usual awesome stuff. Ryan Adams I consider one of the true heirs to the Neil Young and Townes Van Zandt tradition of insightful lyricist and singers.

This was his solo debut. Came out shortly after he left Whiskeytown.

Starts off with a humorous band argument about a Morissey track, then goes right into a great anthem that I just adore, "To be Young (is to be sad is to be high)...

And it contains some really sick harmonizing Americana/country blues tracks. Including this beauty with the beautiful and amazing Emmylou Harris! It's "Oh My Sweet Carolina"

Has lots of songs, all are excellent, all are sad and emotional and amazing!

Listen, if you like hearing great songwriting, emotional music, traditional instrumentation, classic Dylan or TVZ or Gram Parsons or Neil Young or Nick Drake or Uncle Tupelo then you'll really dig this album!

It's my 2nd favorite album of the 2000s.

Natural Snow Buildings are a French duo, Mehdi Ameziane and Solange Gularte, who make a blend of folk, psychedelic, drone and ambient music. Formed in 1997, The Dance Of The Moon And The Sun is their third LP.
