that was one of the most badass guest star spots ever. (Incidentally they did guest on the simpsons but for like 3 seconds or something)

Well it's too late now, but it seems we should have limited the nominations to the confines of the top 200 on BEA. I don't want to criticize too much though because overall, I think you're doing a great job and clearly you're more open minded than I would be about it. I love the short bio lists that precede the voting rounds. :)

That's a fair point. I should have gotten involved in the preliminary discussions. It's sort of like not voting and then complaining about the government. Oh, well.

I like Buffalo Tom, but they really don't belong in this playoff competition. (There are a few other bands I'm wondering about too). They had some great songs but never made any albums I would go back to again and again. AC DC is the better band here and the voting appears to confirm this. This match up is like putting a middleweight fighter up against a heavyweight champ. It's pointless.

Honestly though I like plenty of rock & roll and AC/DC certainly isn't what I'd consider "some of the greatest".

In that case I have failed. I have been trying to make it clear that lyrics isn't the only thing that is important. Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, Shel Silverstein, Lyle Lovett, Tom Waits, Lou Reed, Bruce Springsteen and tons of others write great lyrics that indeed do turn some of their music from merely good to great. Not everything has to be about lyrics though, and in the case of Neutral Milk Hotel and Radiohead the music is so bad that no lyrics can save it.

Well not liking the music in Radiohead is fair enough, personally I think its great although electronic music isn't for everyone. The Bends though? that has great conventional music and I don't see why you would dislike that album. As for Neutral Milk Hotel I think their music was very good, just completely outclassed by their lyrics

The Bends is their best album, yes. My Iron Lung is a good song and Just You Do It Yourself is not bad either.

The bends Is absolutely not their best album.

What was the number one rated album on this site? 😲 that's probably there best album.

Although it certainly doesn't deserve the number one spot.
