Too lazy to check if this has been mentioned, but here's a trilogy that deserves to be. I think E from Eels is a great and brilliant song writer. In 2009, he began his ultimate trilogy with Hombre Lobo, a concept album about desire containing such classics as In My Dreams, That Look You Give That Guy and My Timing is Off (Hombre Lobo is currently at #16 in my chart.) Next came End Times in 2010, a concept album about loss, while exploring E's troubles with growing old. To conclude the trilogy, E put out Tomorrow Morning later in 2010. Redemption is the theme. I think the redemption situation is where E is really at his peak; consider all the crap E had to go through to create Electro-shock Blues. E's words can be the most depressing lyrics in the world, while still upholding a love for the world and all its beautiful things.

It makes sense when you read the lyrics to the album. But it could just be a bunch of magicy lyrics. I like to call it a rock opera. It enhances my enjoyment. Besides, I never understood where he came from with the Loser in the End bit. It kind of makes sense to be a rock opera. But it all depends on how we look at an album.

Are we really going to argue about this? Would you rather save the best for last, or worst for last? I never said you had to do that. That's the way I listen to the albums, and I love listening to them that way. I'm sorry if I'm possibly mistaking seriousness for sarcasm, but if it is sarcasm, please do not question tis way of listening to the albums. I never would've understood the true beauty of ANATO if I hadn't done that trilogy by accident. Besides, only one of these albums tell a story. If all of them told a story that all connected, then yes, I would listen to them chronologically. But they don't.

Like I said, do what you want. It just makes no sense to me. Listening to an artist's music out of order is fine, but if you're going to define a "trilogy" that you occasionally listen to in order, it makes no sense to do it that way. They don't really have any overlapping theme, so the only reason I imagine you put them together in a trilogy is because they were released consecutively, and if that's your basis for calling it a "trilogy", then it kind of falls apart if you don't listen to them in order.

Also, Queen II is still not a rock opera. You're basing that on one fan theory that even acknowledges its own inconsistency by saying that "The Loser in the End" doesn't fit into the story.

Before saying anything, I want to make it clear that I'm not picking at you or trying to taunt you for fear of being banned for a day. Sadly, I feel obligated to include this disclaimer anytime I interact with you from now on.

Now, JMan, the order you choose to listen to albums is your prerogative, but I'd personally advocate chronological order because you can see how they're work has progressed. Also, if you listen to them in order from worst to best, you are establishing an order that should be flexible.

PS: This is a music website where we discuss all aspects of music, so I don't think it's fair to tell someone they can't question your method of listening to albums.
Come on, books are far different from albums.

Because listening to Queen II in between Sheer Heart Attack and A Night at the Opera makes no sense, chronologically or stylistically.

All trilogies are in the order I play them. That Queen trio was exactly how I listened to those album the day I added them to my chart and raised my rank of ANATO yo number 6. Plus, I like to save the best for last in some, not all, cases. Queen's trio is one of them.
