yeah i remember damon singing "middle of the road" on "blur". and i'd probably agree with you outlaw in that i've seen either MOR or "middle-of-the-road" used a number of times in music discussions and always thought it to be a lazy critique.

I've never heard anyone describe a band as MOR, but rather as straight up mediocre or shitty or not worth listening to etc. when I see MOR, I think mid ocean ridge, probably just jargon though

OK thanks for the explanation. I always thought Middle-of-the-road meant ordinary Classic Adult Rock or something, halfway between rock and mass-consumption variety music, unadventurous indeed. Now I do believe it gives information about the music the bands play, you know what to expect when something is dubbed "middle-of-the-road". I guess a band like Toto could maybe stand for a good example ?

I've never seen the term 'MOR' come up before... Not that I can remember anyway. I'd assume 'middle of the road' just means unadventurous?

And I have to say I was disappointed. It doesn't really help with anything regarding music and seems primarily a negative reaction to a bands success. Thinking back on all the times I have read it, I see it as largely inappropriate in most cases.

Or maybe I read the wrong description? Does anyone see it as a good thing? A natural progression perhaps?
