I've been a lifelong fan of the Cars, and had never heard of Pere Ubu until now. I was amazed. Vote to Pere Ubu.

I'm not a huge fan of The Modern Dance, but I really really really can't stand the Cars.

Ok so I've just re-listened to both, and I still love The Cars, but tonight, The Modern Dance will be on my chart. My vote is for Ubu.

The Modern Dance is way more original, but I just find the Cars debut a bit more enjoyable. Maybe it's just because The Cars resulted in Red House Painters' cover of All Mixed Up. I can't look past that.

If this was Dub Housing or Song of the Bailing Man, I'd probably vote Pere Ubu

Always been a fan of the Cars, the band, and the Cars, the album. Ocasek and Hawkes are the best vocals-keyboard since Morrison and Manczarek, and the rest of the Cars are better than the other two Doors. The Modern Dance would have to be really awesome to beat the Cars.

I'll have to think about this one, and probably re-listen to both. It's been a while. Right now I'm leaning towards Pere Ubu, but I remember myself loving The Cars' debut, too.
