Since I started tracking it with the Listened function on this site, my biggest years are:

1967 (by a lot)
1997
1996
2008
1971
1973
1976
1983
1988

My sentiments exactly. I was listening to hundreds during the mid to late 2000s when I was writing. it's impossible to pick a favorite year but 1993, 2000, 1967, 1988 would all be high up there

The last 4 years, individually, are the most for me substantially. Only counting years before 2010...

1970, 1971, 1973, 1977, 1991, 1993, and 2006.

i'd assume some year between 2000-2004 as a result of some combination of my cd buying, emusic subscription and the rise of P2P.

i've probably listened to about 200+ albums (first listen to my ears) this year. i assume i listened to about 500+ albums a year back in the day.

I haven't listened to that much compared to others, but here's my most visited years in music:
1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1972, 1977, 1994, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2013. Those are just the years that I have listened to 5 or more albums.

I listened to 325 albums in 2009, which is the record so far.

As for best year, that distinction goes to 1973 (Dark Side of the Moon, Selling England by the Pound, Quadrophenia, Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd, Houses of the Holy, good grief what a year). Other good years include 1986 (Master of Puppets, The Queen is Dead, Reign in Blood), 1987 (Joshua Tree, Appetite for Destruction, couple more Smiths albums), and 1991 (Nevermind, Ten, Badmotorfinger).

The best recent year was probably 2009 (Fever Ray, The Hazards of Love, Crack the Skye, I And Love And You).

This. My fav year would be 2012. Although I can say there are more 2013 albums that I like, the albums that I love from 2012 are significantly more. Any album on my 2012 top 10 can be on my all-time list.

I've probably heard more 2013 albums than from any other year. In terms of which years I think produced the most great music, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 2001, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013. My favourite is probably 1994 or 2012.
