Surfer Rosa has a lot of fun tracks, but I Could Live in Hope is at number 34 on my chart (it's peak ws 27). So ICLIH for the win.

If it wasn't for lullaby, I would have stopped listening to the Low album. That one song is good, the rest is too indie - everything sounds more or less equal- rock for my taste. Surfer's Rosa on the other hand is pure energy. Easy vote for me.

Well, to be honest, the grand appeal of the Low album flew right over my head. "Lullaby" was the only song that did much of anything for me. Surfer Rosa, on the other hand, has been in my top 100 for ages and is likely to stay there forever. Easy vote for me.

Against Doolittle, it would have been a really really tough choice, but here, I prefer Low.

"Where Is My Mind?" is probably my least favorite song on Surfer Rosa, tbh. Though it's still one of the best songs ever made.

Well that song is pretty great. Personally it doesn't reach the level of Lullaby, but that's just me...
I've always preferred Doolittle, actually.

The Pixies are great although I've not listened to them in a while, but if you're torn between the two just listen to Lullaby and tell me there is a song on Surfer Rose comparable to that. I Could Live in Hope is exactly what its title entails...Although it can get dark there is always this very humane and nurturing center...No matter the circumstance I can just listen to that album and feel safe, like being held, y'know? Such a warm beautiful sound...It is hope in every sense of the word! Even when the subject matter is sad, it is still radiating "it'll be all right".

I always forget that Surfer Rosa was the Pixies debut.. Really strong release 😄

I think I'll be going with that album in this round.. but both are really excellent.
